The 2015/2016 Season Review

We are proud to unveil our first annual season review, tracking a dozen shows on various counts, including the Bechdel Test, the Mako Mori Test, the DuVernay Test, and the Lexa Pledge.

While our primary focus is on the Bechdel Test and the Mako Mori Test, we feel that our overall goal – better representation of women on television – cannot be fully realized without better representation of minorities, including people of color and LGBTIA persons. We will continue to try to highlight intersectional issues, including the DuVernay Test and Lexa Pledge, as often as we can, though our research focus will remain primarily on gender representation.

We’ll try to unpack some of our findings in the coming weeks, and please feel free to contact us with any questions about the review!
